I have a BE6-2 runing a Cel2 with a Slotket 2, but I don't want to start shouting which one is best. I can give you an honest opinion of the day to day aspects of my board but I have no experience of the ASUS board.
Good points
On board 66 controller
Increase FSB by 1Mhz at a time (over 83)
Seems pretty stable (running cel 600 @ 1GHz)
3 Headers for fans
Bad points
On board 66 controller (HighPoint) not the best
Only 3 Dimms (1 covered by H\S - GlobalWin FOP38)
PCI slot 3 and SB128 interferes with HighPoint
Fan header 1 is controlled by the thermocouple (bad IMHO).

I would advise you to check some motherboard sites and especially lost circuits.
What about and 815 chipset board rather than a BX board.
Also maybe consider getting an Athlon board and a clocked Duron, it wouldn't cost you that much more money, not sure how the benchmarks compare though.
