I have a K6-3 450 and even with the large heat, thermal paste, and fan would get very HOT in just a few minutes.

What I found was the running linux, bsd or NT it never even got warm! But with Win9X it got very hot in a few minutes.

Corrective action: INSTALL RAIN OR WATERFALL PRO

Problem solved.
