Make sure you get a socket A Athlon/Duron. Your power supply *should* be adequate. If you choose to reuse your PC100 RAM you'll have to make sure you run it at 100MHz (possible with the A7V since it is based on the VIA KT133 chipset). Also, if you mix and match new PC133 with your old PC100 all your memory will run at 100MHz (unless you overclock your PC100).

Are you planning on reusing some ISA devices (such as your SB Awe 64)? Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) the Asus A7V comes with no ISA slots. You'll need a PCI sound card since the Asus A7V does not take advantage of VIA KT133's integrated audio.

The Asus A7V is supposed to be a good board. Have fun upgrading.
