the below linked article is extremely interesting ( and in German ).
short summary:
Some guy has the vision to create software project ( in any size and complexity ) with roboters ( programs ). You only have to fill a db with knowledge and with the things you want from the software and*snip*, there's your proggie... About 5% of the code needs to be written manually. The target obviously is, besides more efficiency, 100% fault-free code ( they consider software to be fault-free as long as a fault doesn't impact the customer. ). But even the software, writing the code is written by humans only and will contain several errors.
Software prices are expected to drop to 10% of what they are now. Doing a program like WCPUid is a thing of a few seconds/minutes...
The concept isn't new... But for once, they really want to make it real... we'll see.
But for the moment, we Software developpers are stuck at a level, the mechanic production was about 50 years ago. Every part is made by hand...
I think this is rather a nice idea than anything else ( as of yet ). Maybe in five, ten years this could become reality.
