The Radeon's do have hardware decoding. Unfortunately, ATI cards are the only mainstream cards I know of that do have that feature. The others, NVidia/3Dfx, Matrox, etc, generally perform DVD decode in software, with some level of motion compensation in hardware. [Shrug] as bad as ATI is driver wise, there's probably little to no problems in Win98--^_^ But this part's just heresay on my part.
