            Yes I did use this to remove the Cyrix 486 CPU cover. Holding the CPU in my left hand I placed the tip against the edge of the cover and pushed. Dragging the tip across the IC in the progress. If you wanted to reuse the CPU you could put it in a vise and use a small screw driver to remove the cover but that would raise the question why do that to a CPU you wanted to use? Besides then you wouldn't get to use your general purpose, wire stripper, hammer, awl, paper weight, razor and "Do Not Disturb" sign.
